Projects that are in work

This is going to sound a little dull but the first project I am trying to complete is to get a garage and handicap addition done.

My house right now works OK for me but does not have a full on handicap bathroom. I have the concrete done and the next step is to get it enclosed. Once this is done, I will have a place to actually build more projects.

I am also in the process of building a stander so that I can stand up again as I haven’t been able to do so in almost a year. It will use the winch on my side by side so that it can stand me up with very little effort on my part. It is kind of plain and just made of wood. The main reason it isn’t done yet is that it is cold outside.

I am building a stand-up off-road powerchair. The basic frame is done with the motors and wheels mounted but it was built as a stand-up powerchair and then I got stuck beside my house in my everyday powerchair, so me and my buddy that is helping me build it decided to back up and make it an off-road chair as well. As such, it has been a learning process trying to figure out how to make everything work together, mainly the best way to mount the wide tires and wheels to not strip the gear boxes on the motors. He also has been in the middle of a different project with his son and hasn’t had the time to work on this one as much.

Completed Projects

A buddy and I built a handicap accessible simulator rig (for my Computer). I was having a few problems driving from my chair so we built one. I detail the project in my blog post https://www.retainingmobility.com/handicap-simulator-project-done/

We built a handicap accessible deer blind out of a stack of old lumber. It had a shelf that was the right height for my bi-pod so that I could shoot from it. It also was on skids so that it could be moved and has a fold down ramp so that I can get in and out of it. It has a roof in it that is tin that are left over scraps from when they put the roof on my house.
