Coming and going! As well as a little progress.

So I haven’t posted anything new for a bit but I have had a lot of stuff going on around me. I have been dealing with some hip pain and discomfort. When you sit in a chair for as many hours a day as I do, that is unavoidable. I am usually in my chair for 16 hours straight! I do have a better chair now (that I have had for over a year) that allows me to change positions (with power) and straighten my legs and lay back and things. It does help a lot but sometimes that is not enough. This week for the first time I have had my mom help me stretch. It bothers her because I want her to move my legs further than it seems like they should go, or ways that it almost seems would hurt me. However for me, it actually feels good because it is stretching muscles and tendons and things that I can no longer stretch by myself.

It makes me wonder if one of the things on my goal page would help. I figured out a way to make a stander (A device that should safely stand me up with a winch and put weight on my legs again as I can no longer stand on my own.). I feel like I have all of the stuff to be able to build it but the weather outside didn’t cooperate in order for my buddy to help me build it. It is going to be made out of wood (which I believe I have all that I need of) and will use the winch on my side by side. It won’t be anything fancy but it should be able to get the job done.

My aunt and uncle put a ramp on the back of their house this weekend. It wasn’t specifically added for me but I feel like I will get the most use out of it for a little bit. I can’t express enough how nice it to know that I can come and go as I want (I don’t live there but have been going about every other day to see my grandpa) without having to have somebody come let me in or out with a portable ramp. (My Aunt Karen’s is now the only house I visit regularly besides my parents where I can come and go without assistance) It reminds me of how much I don’t go to visit people because of the hassle of not being able to get in their house very easily.

In a bit of website news, I ordered some business cards this week that will hopefully be in some time next week. I plan on using them to actively try to spread the word in a more traditional setting, while also giving them something to remember my website name and address. I am also hoping to use this more door to door approach to possibly gain a sponsor or product support.

I also talked to someone about making me some hats. The price seemed reasonable so I plan to make the investment. I haven’t decided on whether or not to offer them to everyone yet. On one hand it could raise awareness for my brand that I am sort of trying to create and could lead to more web traffic. However that would also cause more expenses out of my pocket on something that is a bit of a gamble to work. So maybe on the other hand I should maybe offer to sell them if somebody wanted one. This also is a little tricky. Do you sell them at cost? How does it work if you have to ship them or meet someone to pick them up? Do you just add a little bit to it to cover the costs? Do you instead just add a little in general and use it more like a slight fundraiser? I don’t see people just lining up to buy them in general so is it even worth worrying about? I feel like I will probably make sure I have a few for me and probably give one to my dad and a few people and see where it goes.

Overall I still would like some feedback on my posts. I keep getting told that they have not been seeing my updates that I have posted something new on Facebook. The best way to get around this is still to subscribe and it will email you every time I add a new blog. So far my average has been 2 blogs a week so it won’t be filling your inbox with stuff. Also you can let me know if you would like tagged in my post on Facebook if you would like to know that way. Thanks for reading!

Just my opinion, those of us who know and love you would like to be able to buy hats above costs. Maybe some of those profits could pay for more distribution. If you try it, let us know. Love you. By the way, I thought there was a standing chair you talked about earlier. Is that the same thing you are trying to design yourself?

The one I am talking about on this post would be just a stander that is made out of wood and doesn’t move. The stand up chair that I was talking about before and am working on is made out of steel and will move like a normal powerchair. Funnily enough my buddy is at my house right now and we are discussing the standing powerchair right now.
